Workplace Korean is not just polite Korean with office nouns attached. It has a vocabulary of movement: information goes upward, approval moves through a chain, teams coordinate laterally, and responsibility attaches to named people. 보고, 결재, 협의, 공유, and 조율 are the core verbs of this social machinery.
보고 is reporting, often upward. 보고하다, 보고드리다, 보고받다, 보고서, 구두 보고, 서면 보고. It is not merely “tell.” It implies role, accountability, and information transfer to someone who needs to know or decide.
결재 is approval/authorization in an organization. Do not confuse it with 결제, payment. 결재라인, 결재권자, 결재를 올리다, 결재가 나다 are workplace and bureaucratic staples. The spelling difference matters.
협의 is consultation or discussion with relevant parties before action. It is more formal than simply talking. 부서 간 협의, 관계자 협의, 사전 협의 all imply coordination before a decision or implementation.
공유 is sharing information. It may be friendly, but in workplace Korean it often means “make sure others are informed.” 자료 공유, 일정 공유, 이슈 공유, 공유드립니다 are common.
조율 is adjustment/alignment, especially of schedules, opinions, roles, scope, or priorities. It often appears when multiple parties have conflicting constraints.

This sentence is pure workplace flow. First upward reporting to the team lead, then cross-department consultation, then schedule coordination. The Korean does not merely say “I’ll tell my manager and talk to people.” It encodes hierarchy and process.
Learner traps
The biggest trap is 결재 vs 결제. 결재 is approval; 결제 is payment. Another trap is using 공유하다 for emotional sharing because English “share” is broad. In Korean workplace contexts, 공유 often means distribute information or make a file/message visible.
