Who is Inkuntri for?

Inkuntri is designed for learners ages 16 and up. The fictional scene comments include satire and mature humor.

Which Inkuntri are you using?

The new scene-based experience is live at inkuntri.com. Get the matching iPhone and iPad app on the App Store. Update to version 2.0 or later for the scene-based experience. If your installed app still shows deck passages, you have the earlier release. You can start with a free web account now; contact us if you need help with an earlier purchase.

Sign in and keep your progress

Use the same Inkuntri account on each device. Your scene and flashcard progress is saved to that account. If you’ve added a recovery email, use Reset password. Otherwise, contact support. Never share your password with us.

What can I try for free?

The first three scenes in each of Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean are free with an account. There’s no countdown and no automatic charge. Full access is purchased separately for each language. See plans and availability.

Practice a scene

Open Practice this scene to start flashcards right away. You can also tap the learning items to explore their place in the picture whenever you like. Set your interval, turn the card to reveal its reading, meaning, and scene comment, then choose an answer. Pause when you need a break. On Side 4, tap the scene thumbnail to enlarge it with the featured item’s label; pinch to zoom or turn your phone sideways.

Notifications in the new iPhone app

Enable Notify me between flashcards in your account or practice controls, and allow notifications when iOS asks. Answer the current card, then leave during the countdown. The next learning item appears in a notification when it is due; tap it to open Side 1. A card already on screen does not send another alert when you leave.

If an alert doesn’t appear, check Settings → Notifications → Inkuntri, Focus, Scheduled Summary, and whether your drill is paused or finished. An open waiting drill shows the card itself. Apple may route the alert to your worn Apple Watch instead of your phone.

Lock Screen widget and Apple Watch

In the new iPhone app, open Account → Lock Screen widget and choose the next learning item or the next scene comment. Then touch and hold your Lock Screen, choose Customize → Lock Screen → Add Widgets, and add Inkuntri. iOS controls refresh timing; a long comment may be shortened to fit.

Install the companion using the Watch app on your iPhone. Tap the learning term to reveal I Got It and Show Again. The paired iPhone sends your answer to Inkuntri. If the Watch says it is waiting, reopen Inkuntri on your connected iPhone. The Watch does not play audio or show the other card sides.

Audio, writing, and review tests

A Listen button appears when a recording is available. Pronunciation and comment recordings are still being expanded; availability varies by item. Stroke-order animation is available for supported Chinese characters, including kanji. It isn’t a handwriting test and does not animate every script.

Review buttons unlock in sequence after the preceding step. Tests need a 100% score to pass. Some modes also need recordings or complete picture targets, so they may remain unavailable for a scene. A video step appears only when that scene has a video.

Purchases, cancellation, and refunds

In the new iOS app, open Account → Language subscriptions to purchase or restore an Apple plan. Use the Apple account that made the purchase and the Inkuntri account it belongs to. If an older purchase can’t be linked, contact support with the product and transaction reference from your Apple receipt; don’t send payment details.

Manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your Apple account. Apple handles App Store refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. Deleting the app or your Inkuntri account does not cancel Apple billing.

Web checkout is not yet publicly available. When enabled, web subscribers can use Account → Language subscriptions → Manage web billing to manage renewal. Contact us about web billing questions.

Reset or delete your account

Open Account to reset learning progress or choose Delete my account and confirm your password. Resetting progress keeps your account. Account deletion removes your sign-in and learning progress. Cancel any web renewal and close unfinished web checkouts first; cancel Apple renewal separately through Apple. Read our privacy policy for retention details.
