The reader can understand Japanese app-permission and privacy-interface language around location, notifications, account linking, data sharing, consent, and cancellation.

Published April 9, 2026 Japanese

Core examples: 位置情報, 通知, 連携, 解除, 許可, 同意, 利用規約, プライバシーポリシー, アカウント削除, 退会, 配信停止, 外部サービス.

The button may grant access you did not mean to give

A Japanese app screen says:

位置情報の利用を許可しますか。 通知をオンにすると、お得な情報を受け取れます。 外部サービスと連携します。 利用規約とプライバシーポリシーに同意します。

The UI is short. The consequences may involve location tracking, marketing notifications, account linking, data sharing, subscription, or deletion difficulty.

The key principle is:

App-permission Japanese must be read by access requested, purpose, default setting, consequence of refusal, and revocation path.

Do not tap 同意 or 許可 because the sentence feels familiar.

許可

許可

means permission/allowing.

In app interfaces:

許可する allow

許可しない do not allow

アクセスを許可 allow access

常に許可 always allow

使用中のみ許可 allow only while using

Learner action: check whether permission is one-time, while using, always, or denied.

位置情報

位置情報

means location information.

Related:

現在地 current location

GPS GPS

位置情報サービス location services

バックグラウンドで取得 collect in background

Location permission may support maps, delivery, weather, ride-hailing, local coupons, safety, or advertising.

Learner action: ask why the app wants location and whether it needs background access.

通知

通知

means notification.

Related:

プッシュ通知 push notification

通知をオンにする turn notifications on

通知をオフにする turn notifications off

重要なお知らせ important notice

Notifications may include important account alerts or marketing messages.

Learner action: distinguish service-critical notifications from promotional notifications.

同意

同意

means consent/agreement.

Common screens:

利用規約に同意する agree to terms of use

プライバシーポリシーに同意する agree to privacy policy

上記に同意して進む agree above and proceed

Consent may be required to use the app, but sometimes optional consent is mixed with required consent.

Learner action: look for 必須 and 任意.

利用規約 and プライバシーポリシー

利用規約

means terms of use.

プライバシーポリシー

means privacy policy.

These documents define user rules, liability, data collection, data sharing, service changes, account suspension, and cancellation procedures.

In a UI screen, these may be links. The user may be asked to agree with them before registering.

Learner action: for high-stakes apps, do not treat these as decorative.

連携

連携

means linking/integration/coordination.

In apps:

Googleアカウントと連携 link with Google account

外部サービスと連携 link with external service

口座連携 bank account linkage

データ連携 data integration

Linking may allow login, data import, payment, posting, contact syncing, or account recovery.

Learner action: ask what data or action access the linked service gains.

外部サービス

外部サービス

means external service.

Related:

外部アカウント external account

第三者サービス third-party service

連携先 linked destination/service

外部サービス language tells you the app is not acting alone.

Learner action: identify the other company/platform/service involved.

解除

解除

means解除/release/unlink/cancel depending context.

In app settings:

連携を解除する unlink/disconnect

通知設定を解除 turn off/cancel notification setting

契約を解除する cancel contract

解除 is not always account deletion. It may only disconnect one feature.

Learner action: identify what exactly is being解除される: linkage, subscription, permission, contract, lock, or restriction.

配信停止

配信停止

means stop delivery/distribution, often unsubscribe from emails or notifications.

Related:

メール配信停止 unsubscribe from email distribution

お知らせの配信を停止 stop receiving notices

This usually does not delete the account. It stops messages.

Learner action: 配信停止 is not 退会.

退会 and アカウント削除

退会

means withdrawal from membership/service.

アカウント削除

means account deletion.

Related:

解約 cancellation/termination of subscription or contract

データ削除 data deletion

復元できません cannot be restored

退会 and アカウント削除 may differ. Some services allow membership withdrawal while retaining certain records for legal or operational reasons.

Learner action: read data-retention and restoration warnings.

App-permission audit workflow

When reading Japanese app permission screens:

  1. Requested access: location, camera, contacts, notifications, account, bank?
  2. Purpose statement.
  3. Required or optional?
  4. Default setting.
  5. Consequence of denying.
  6. External service involved?
  7. Data shared or collected?
  8. Consent to terms/privacy?
  9. How to revoke/解除.
  10. Subscription or membership involved?
  11. Account deletion/retention warning.
  12. Final button label.

Permission and account-finality table

App UI Japanese should be sorted by access and finality.

PhraseWhat changesFinality/risk
許可するgrants accessprivacy/function risk
同意するaccepts terms/consentlegal/data effect
連携するlinks account/servicedata/action sharing
解除するunlinks/cancels settingcheck object
配信停止stops messagesaccount remains
退会withdraws from servicemembership change
アカウント削除deletes accounthigh finality
復元できませんcannot restoreirreversible
外部サービスthird-party servicedata leaves app boundary
必須 / 任意required/optionalconsent choice

Small buttons can change account status or data access.

Look for:

必須 required

任意 optional

同意しない場合は利用できません cannot use if you do not agree

後で設定できます can set later

A screen may bundle required terms consent with optional marketing or notification consent. Separate them before tapping.

Revocation path

For every permission, ask:

  1. Where can I turn it off?
  2. Is 解除 possible?
  3. Does disabling remove collected data?
  4. Does 配信停止 stop only emails?
  5. Does 退会 delete data?
  6. Is アカウント削除 reversible?

Permission literacy includes exit literacy.

A strong tool for this article would simulate Japanese app settings.

Suggested functions:

  1. Permission-type labels.
  2. Allow/deny/revoke flow.
  3. Required/optional tag.
  4. External-service link map.
  5. Terms/privacy warning.
  6. Account deletion finality alert.
  7. Plain-language consent summary.

Final rule

App Japanese is small text with large consequences.

位置情報 tells where you are. 通知 decides what reaches you. 連携 connects accounts. 許可 grants access. 同意 accepts rules. 解除 may revoke. 退会 and アカウント削除 change or end service. 配信停止 only stops messages.

Before tapping, identify what access, data, or account status changes.
