対象となるのは、原則として前年1月1日から12月31日までに配信や発売された楽曲・アルバムやアーティスト。 チャートで上位にランクインしたものから一定数を機械的に選出し、その中から国内外の約5千人に及ぶ音楽関係者らが投票してノミネート作を決める。 その後、最終投票によって、各部門の最優秀賞を決める。
Eligible entries are songs, albums, and artists that were released or distributed, in principle, between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year.
They mechanically select a set number from those that ranked high on the charts, and from those nominees about 5,000 music industry people at home and abroad vote to decide the nominated works.
After that, final voting decides the best award in each category.
